How to connect the Player to Wi-Fi?

Having an active internet connection is necessary for the media player to work properly. Although the player can work offline for some time, it is always a good idea to set up a stable internet connection. We strongly recommend using a wired connection via an ethernet cable. However, when not available, Wi-Fi is there to save your day.

If the (preferred) wired connection via ethernet cable is not possible, you can connect the player to your local Wi-Fi network. Here is how:

  1. Connect your keyboard directly to the player's USB port and hit Esc or Alt+F4 - That will shut down the media player.
  2. Navigate to the upper right corner of the screen and locate the Wi-Fi icon.
  3. Click on it, select the desired network and fill in the password when prompted. The player will remember the network settings and auto-connect to it after a restart.
  4. You can now safely reboot your player to restart the media player application.

Since our Bohemica Signage app runs on a standard linux OS (Ubuntu 24), you can reach for widely available manuals when setting up more advanced network settings.
