Minimum hardware requirements for the Player

4K content at 60 FPS

An Intel NUC 8i5BEK (or better) with 4 GB of RAM and at least a 32 GB SSD, or a Raspberry Pi 5 (4 GB) — the Pi handles 4K only when just one of its HDMI outputs is in use (a single connected screen).

Full HD content at 60 FPS

An Intel NUC7PJYHN (or better) with 4 GB of RAM and at least a 32 GB SSD, or a Raspberry Pi 5 (4 GB).

Can I use an HDD instead of an SSD?

Yes, you can. Make sure the drive is healthy and has no corrupted blocks.

Can I use less than 4 GB of RAM?

While it isn't officially supported, you can use 2 GB of RAM.

Can I use an NVIDIA GPU in the player?

We test hardware-accelerated video decoding on Intel graphics, and the player image ships the drivers for it. Other GPUs (including NVIDIA) aren't tested — the player will still run, but video may be decoded by the CPU instead of the graphics chip, which limits how much high-resolution video it can handle. If you plan to use a discrete GPU, check with us first.
